About The HMP Oval Track

The track is one of America’s Premier 3/8 mile, high-banked, asphalt speedways.

This family-friendly complex is situated in a park like setting inside Beltway 8, on the North-East side of Houston, only 20 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport. It is similar in design to any typical NASCAR-style asphalt short track, with a computerized timing and scoring system, media center and VIP suites. Houston Motorsports Park’s speedway currently features side-by-side racing action with seven or eight classes roaring through the turns and screaming down the straightaways.

The track is one of America’s Premier 3/8 mile, high banked, asphalt short ovals, the only remaining paved short track in Texas.

Race Classes usually include: Pro Modifieds, Pro Trucks, Factory Stocks, Eco-stocks, Legends, Legacy and Outlaws.

Houston Motorsports Park also has one of the fastest 1/8 mile all concrete drag strips in the country, with speeds over 190 mph, big burnouts and huge wheelstands at almost every event. Witness supercharged, nitrous breathing, and/or turbo-powered machines with well over 2500 horsepower at about any special event! The current track record, 3.717 @ 199MPH is held by Frankie “MADMAN” Taylor driving his 2005 Corvette Outlaw Pro Mod.

Fun and affordable entertainment for the whole family is sure to create memories with excitement and big smiles for  children and adults alike! Come enjoy our full concessions along with $1 beer and $1 hotdogs.
